USA WSDI 2014 MOTIONS

Round One: Impromptu – This House believes that online matchmaking is a better system that traditional dating.

Round Two: Impromptu – This House would introduce ethnic and gender quotas for film and television programs.

Round Three: Prepared - This House would support “Tiger Parenting.” (Tiger Parenting is strict, demanding and pushes children to high levels of achievement.)

Round Four: Prepared - Teams will switch sides on the Round Three motion.

Round Five: Impromptu – This House would allow prisoners to volunteer for drug trials in exchange for shorter sentences.

Round Six: Prepared - This House regrets the continuation of NATO after the dissolution of the Soviet Union.

Quarterfinals: Impromptu – This House believes that governments should actively discourage consumerist lifestyles.

Semifinals: Impromptu – This House believes that the future of democracy on planet Earth is a bright one.

Final Round: This House believes that in instances where peaceful protests are met with a disproportionately violent state response, protesters should respond violently.
